As news of the shooting spreads, Dana arrives to lend a hand but ends up consulting on a case with Cassie that involves a male stripper. They must get this patient to remember who he is while at the same time grappling with their own issues. When they fail to save Charlie's life, his organs go to many of the accident victims, saving several lives. Shahir and Dev treat a patient who had been beaten by police, and Dawn thinks outside the box to help a kind-hearted and philanthropic patient in need of a heart transplant. Zach tries extraordinary means to save a down-on-his-luck patient with liver disease who is ineligible for a transplant.
Shahir and Dana's coma patient wakes up without any memory of the last 20 years of his life - including his wife. To make matters worse, Alex must tell her mother that she's been diagnosed with a terminal disease. Shahir does in-utero spina bifida surgery on a baby up for adoption, perhaps resulting in the answer to he and Jonathan's adoption wishes. Meanwhile, Dana's resolve to re-certify in Trauma is tested when Dawn pushes her to treat a mangled motorcyclist, and Charlie is pulled into surgery before his arm is completely healed. Later, Charlie and Maggie treat an 1812 War reenactor, whose complications align with those of the historical character he's playing.
